A glass furnace is a device used for melting glass. According to product performance requirements, materials are weighed, mixed, and transported to the furnace. They are then melted at a high temperature until a certain temperature is reached, and finally, they are supplied to the shaping process. Generally, the furnace body of a glass furnace is constructed with supporting steel structures, foundations, refractory materials that encase the glass, and insulation materials. The batch materials undergo four steps inside the furnace, which include the formation, melting, homogenization, and clarification of silicates. The integrated glass furnace system consists of four parts: glass melting, heat supply, waste heat recovery, and exhaust gas treatment and emission. Based on fuel type, it can be divided into natural gas, coke oven gas, coal gas, liquefied petroleum gas, liquefied natural gas, heavy oil, coal tar, petroleum coke, and other types. Based on glass furnace type, it can be divided into crucible furnaces, unit furnaces, regenerative chamber furnaces, all-oxygen combustion furnaces, all-electric furnaces, and hot-top electric heating furnaces (composite furnaces). Based on the industry, it can be divided into: architectural glass furnaces, daily glass furnace, special glass furnace (including fiberglass furnaces).

 

Glass furnaces can be widely used in various fields such as glass, enamel glazes, ceramic glazes, hazardous waste glassification, etc., and have a broad development prospect.
